Stop Taking Your Shoes off During Airport Security Checks (TSA)

Wait. How can I do that? The United States TSA, Tranportation Security Administration has everyone take off their shoes! Easy! Sign up for the Trusted Traveler Program called Global Entry. Do you travel internationally and want to move more quickly through security check points? In the summer of 2013 the U.S. Government rolled out the multiple Trusted Traveler Program. For the individual traveler, like yourself the best program I could find is called Global Entry. According to the fact sheet becoming a member of this program would mean No more removing your shoes during TSA check points. No More removing your belt No more lap top removal from your lap top carrying case. Quick and easy. This is what I discovered so far; Trusted Traveler Program-- Global Entry Apply Now with the Global Online Enrollment System (GOES). The Global Entry online application is part of U.S. Customs and Border Protection's (CBP) Global Online Enrollment System (GOES), which is used for all CBP Trusted Traveler program applications. (GOES) I had difficulty finding the initial application to start the process on this website. I am thinking that the best thing to do is find an enrollment center at one of your favorite airports. http://www.globalentry.gov/locations.html Has the list handy and a NEW one just opened up in DC, near the White House. Here's the registration information; Every individual who applies for Global Entry - including children - must create an individual GOES account and submit a separate Global Entry application. Each pays the non-refundable $100 application fee via credit card or electronic bank transfer. After accepting your completed application and fee, CBP will review your application. If your application is conditionally approved, your GOES account will instruct you to schedule an appointment for an interview at a Global Entry Enrollment Center. Each applicant in a household must schedule a separate interview. I am curious how the process goes for you so please post your experience with this new program. Be Healthy, Nurse G
